Corbin Hodges, DVM
Dr. Hodges received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2005. Doctors Corbin and Rebecca Hodges joined Piper Heritage Veterinary Clinic in 2007 after practicing in the Reno, Nevada area for two years. He has a special interest in orthopedics and dentistry. Dr. Hodges performs several orthopedic surgeries that are uncommon in general practice. He also has a special interest in less common species such as reptiles, fish and pocket pets like ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and rats and enjoys the special challenges that working with these types of pets presents. Dr. Hodges purchased Piper Heritage from Dr. Smith in December of 2012 and is currently the Medical Director. When not practicing Dr. Hodges enjoys fishing, playing with his children and working on home improvement projects.
Jenifer Nezerka, DVM
Dr. Nezerka grew up right here in the Kansas City area and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. She has been a part of the Piper Heritage family since 2012, working throughout veterinary school, and started as a doctor in June 2016. Dr. Nezerka enjoys all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine but has a special interest in internal medicine, ultrasound, and preventative medicine. She spends her free time taking her handsome dog, Andy, on long hikes or heading to the nearest mountain to go skiing.
Brooke Lewis, DVM
Dr. Lewis joined Piper Heritage in June of 2019. She graduated from K-State and has been practicing in Kansas City since 2004. She enjoys getting to know pet owners and strengthening the human-animal bond through preventative medicine. Her favorite thing about being a veterinarian is being able to advocate for her patients and the variety that daily practice gives her. When not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, keeping up with her children’s variety of activities, and spending time with their medley of pets including a rescued pug, two cats, and a golden cornsnake.
Jeremiah Nilges, DVM
Dr. Nilges graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He practiced in Arizona for two years before coming back to the Kansas City area. Dr. Nilges has worked at Piper Heritage since 2013. Dr. Nilges has a professional interest in ophthalmology. When not at the clinic Dr. Nilges enjoys attending K-State sporting events, outdoor sports and helping coach his children’s little league teams.
